Preparation
The following can be prepared the previous evening
  • Chop garlic and green onion, and then prepare lemon zest.
  • Mix and place in a sealed container.
  • To save time, you can also cook the pasta and carrots beforehand. Simply reheat when serving.

  • In a saucepan, heat vegetable oil on medium-high heat and cook milk-fed veal chops for 1 minute on each side or until brown. Remove and keep warm.
  • In the same saucepan, add coconut milk and chicken broth. Bring to a boil. Scrape the bottom of pan to remove all residue. Add garlic, white part of the green onion, mushrooms, five-spice powder and lemon zest. Salt and pepper to taste.
  • Bring to a boil and add chops. Reduce heat to medium-low. Cover and simmer for
20 to 25 minutes or until sauce starts to thicken and meat is tender.
  • Serve chops covered with sauce. Sprinkle green part of the green onion and roasted sesame seeds. Serve with lemon and pepper flavoured pasta and carrot slices.
  • Variation: replace roasted sesame seeds with chopped peanuts.
